OK statos. Help me out here. Ranking points for DC matches. Is it 40 or 45, or have I got that completely wrong.

The ATP website states "Davis Cup points are awarded for World Group and World Group playoff ties only. The points accumulated in the four ties within the previous 52 weeks can be used as one of the players best of six (6) results."

However it doesn't say how many points. Also, how does Andy have 65 points at the moment (although non-countable) as I thought the only "live" tie for GB was Italy last year as the 2014 USA points have already been dropped (?)

40 per live rubber win in WG R1, 65 in WG QFs - full details at http://www.daviscup.com/en/rankings/atp-ranking-points.aspx

... and yes, since last year's R1 points came off, Andy has had 65 from the Italy tie, Wardy none.

Happy Birthday tomorrow to both Priesty and Huntley93.  Let's hope you can both celebrate with a decisive doubles win.

A bravura performance!  Tennis cognoscenti ( especially British ones) will be talking about this for years, even decades to come.  He has earned the utmost respect of everyone who has any  interest in sporting endeavour.

Dino, mate, you have raised the spirits of everyone wh owatched!

Not much to add. Amazing performance from two sets to love down. He has done himself and the country proud.

What a performance James Ward! Keeps pulling it out of the bag in big Davis Cup matches. Played some quality tennis tonight, really showed he's got the ability to establish himself in the top 100. Jamie and Dom to finish the job tomorrow for me.

Just checking how often the USA have managed to recover from 0-2 down to win a DC tie, expecting them to have done it a lot more often than we have. Turns out they have only done it once before, against Australia in the Inter-Zonal Final at Wimbledon in 1934, when they went on to lose to us in the Challenge Round, i.e. the actual Final.
