RE: Girls: Easter Bowl Championship (Closed), USA, hard - Grade B1 (Week 15)

Well Katie can rest up for a while. Any news where she is playing next?

I'm sure we'll see her in Roehampton and Wimbledon barring injury

A quite informative article about Katie in the local press in Kansas:

The article intimates playing junior GS including Wimbledon where she already has agreed to play with the very good American Bellis.

Another who may end up going down the US college route rather than play the tour.

I would guess with Katie and any possible college route, quite a lot may depend on how much and how quickly her tennis progresses.

If she is doing particularly well, more chance of her choosing to head directly to the tour.

Many thanks for that. So good to see a video which actually gives you a good chunk of tennis and not just three shots. I loved the coverage of the boys' match. And nice to see Katie too, good luck to her.

She's also down for the Oxford BT during last week of May - also on grass.  I think the US school term is just about over so I guess she's coming back over to prepare for junior Wimby

V.excited to see Katie this summer! That's one huge serve she has for 15!

She's also playing junior Wimby doubles with Bellis - another 15yrs ranked 12 who she loses to in that video. Outside chance of the title by the looks of things!

Yes, great that she'll be here smile

Bellis is currently in Italy playing the Grade 1 event there. She's made the semis so far (singles and doubles)

Bellis won les petits As and seems (echoing DavidC's earlier comments) an exceptional talent. Looks like a good combination.

She took Sofia Arvidsson to three sets a few weeks back and has already rolled through the likes of Sally Peers. The encouraging thing for Katie is that the video evidence doesn't show that she's too far away. Particularly impressive given that she's still in school full-time (I think).

Also noticed that Eleanor Dean isn't down for Nottingham so maybe she's giving the grass a miss this year?
