The final week of the south-east Asian swing sees Katie Boulter as top seed in the absence of Shilin Xu. Freya Christie is seeded to meet the player who beat her at the Australian Open in round 3
Boys R1 (L64)
Lewis Roskilly (GBR) v (WC) Marcen Angelo Gonzales (PHI)
Both boys negotiate round 1. Rhett will know his second round opponent well, from playing doubles with him in the past. Freya has a potentially tricky round 2 against someone who beat the Thailand G1 winner last week
Boys R1 (L64)
Lewis Roskilly (GBR) d. (WC) Marcen Angelo Gonzales (PHI) 4-6 4-3 rtd
Rhett Purcell (GBR) d. (Q) Chao-Ting Hsieh (TPE) 6-2 6-4
R2
Lewis Roskilly (GBR) v (6) Nam Hoang Ly (VIE)
Rhett Purcell (GBR) v (11) Alexander Klintcharov (NZL)
Girls R2
(1) Katie Boulter (GBR) v Rosie Cheng (NZL)
(8) Freya Christie (GBR) v Tamachan Momkoonthod (THA)
An impressive win for Rhett to go with 3 setters for Katie and Freya, where they both ended strongly. Freya doesn't get the opportunity to avenge her Australian Open loss as Lizette Cabrera was well beaten by last week's champion Tami Grende
Boys R2
(6) Nam Hoang Ly (VIE) d. Lewis Roskilly (GBR) w/o
Rhett Purcell (GBR) d. (11) Alexander Klintcharov (NZL) 6-0 6-2
Excellent from Rhett, but frustrating for Freya if consistent - reaching the third round each time in the three tournaments, but unable to get to the quarter-finals which she needed to boost her ranking. Katie had one of those matches where she won despite winning fewer games.

According to twitter - Katie threw up twice during her R3 match, but this is common place for Katie apparently.
Yes, she's been giving her opponents 'the big heave' in Asia in more ways than one, by all accounts. She doesn't sound too concerned about it but it can't be fun

Katie needs to either win the singles(improve) or finish runner up to defend her singles points and must win the doubles to get any improvement on doubles points.
Of the players above her on the rankings:
Louisa Chirico, Ana Konjuh, Tornado Black, Belinda Bencic - don't seem to be playing juniors this year, so should drop down the rankings.
So potential to move into the top 5/6 rankings especially if she has a good run at Paris or Wimbledon.

More good news is that Rhett won his QF in a final set tie breaker and will now break into the top 100 as he is also is the semi finals of the doubles.

Strong opponent for Katie next, who trounced her in an Oz G1, before reaching the Australian Open semis. Another win in singles would take Rhett above Julian Cash as top-ranked Brit
