Now we're at the business end:

 

Rhett has been moving along nicely, into the semis in the singles:

 

QF : Rhett PURCELL (GBR) [3] def.   Mitchell HARPER (AUS) [6]      6-2 6-3

 

SF:     Rhett PURCELL (GBR) [3]  v Kentaro MIZUSHIMA (JPN) [5]

 

And in the doubles he's into the finals:

 

SF: Rhett PURCELL (GBR) / Niko VULINOVICH (NZL) [6]   def.  William MATHESON (NZL) / Trent SMITH (NZL) [3]    6-3 6-2   

Final:  Rhett PURCELL (GBR) / Niko VULINOVICH (NZL) [6]  v  Jack HESLIN (NZL) / Richard YANG (AUS) [5]

Rhett is doubles champion and into the final for the singles ! :)

And champion in the doubles:

To be fair Rhett has been playing in much stronger tournaments - Grade A,1 etc. I would expect him to go well here.

Absolutely. He's on home turf so presumably that's why he's playing it.

But he's not the number one seed so there are others supposedly better too . . .
