There'll be full results at the end of the day but worth noting that Holly Thompson has put out the fourth seed from France.
A special note to for the wild-card Lauryn John-Baptiste who's only 14 (born July 1999) and who beat the girl two years her senior from Romania. Lauryn is the girl who inadvertently caused all the fuss when free use of the courts at Roehampton was suddenly rescinded - and then the LTA did an about-turn.

Lauryn's section opened up with both the French girl mentioned by Coup Droit and seventh seed Mia Smith (to Hannah Brett) out. No problems for top seed Holly or Nastya, but another fancied '99 Ellie-Rose Griffiths lost
At last - a tournament on my doorstep(5 min drive). I didn't think Wavertree was big enough or good enough to host a tournament... Might nip down to watch the finals on Saturday.
Nastya did well earlier in the year, winning one Nottingham title and only losing to Freya Christie in the other, but has struggled to reach the latter stages of ITFs since. 6 Brits and Russian twins make up the quarters.

So Jodie has the task of beating twins in consecutive matches - a challenge which has occurred a few times before to British players, including Laura Robson v Pliskovas in the Australian Open (also semi/final). Eden wins her first ITF title
