Very encouraging from Max. We are guaranteed a finalist in the doubles as Joel/Julian play Ben & partner - with Josh in the other semi

Any news on Mason Recci - he had a couple of good tournaments earlier this year?

After winning one of the Irish G5s at the beginning of August he has played a couple of G3s with modest success (1 QF) but had no joy in the Loughborough Futures qualifying last week

Good to see Josh's recent progress. He and Peter Ashley were being highly talked about in the past but, for whatever reasons, seem to have had a quiet couple of years.

Injuries have played a part in Pete and Josh's relative lack of progress. Josh came close to another final but couldn't pull it off. Doubles final to come

SF

(3) Alvaro Lopez San Martin (ESP) d. (5) Joshua Sapwell (GBR) 6-7(6) 7-5 6-2

He's in the QD at Edgbaston.

And Peter Ashley has got a WC too.

Cool stat from Josh's facebook page.

Just a little stat, in my last 49 3 set matches going back all the way to 2010 I have won 45 of them, today was my 4th 3rd set match loss ending a 21 3rd set win streak. Night night, god bless!!

That's a very impressive record - if he gets anywhere close to doing that well in tight senior matches, he could go far!
