QF: James Marsalek WR 642 defeated George Morgan WR 1031 by 3 & 2
****
SF: James Marsalek WR 642 vs (3) Joris de Loore (BEL) WR 423
They met in Doha earlier this year and the Belgian won, but only just - 3-6 7-5 7-6(2)
George was hitting aces like there was no tomorrow yesterday and ran out of gas & missiles today !
But its good that we got a Brit in the SF final James is a nice lad and deserves some hard earned success Would be great if makes the final ! Go Marzi !
Yes got big smile on my face but not as large as Lewis apparently is gonna have after his blind date . But he's got to lift his record 7th futures title of the year otherwise the deal is off !
It's clearly engaging a number of people to see how many posts can be put on a given thread. There's an obvious element of fun to this pursuit (would any of us be on this board if we didn't at some level enjoy keeping track of statistics?) But - just to give a balancing opinion - at the same time, there are users, of whom I'll confess to being one, who would prefer not to have to go through quite so many posts in order to get to results ... and who, precisely because of valuing the insights and comments that are posted and wanting to be able to read them, hope that posts don't proliferate primarily in pursuit of target numbers.
Suspect this may be one where we will agree to disagree ...

Looking ahead to the Scotland Davis Cup team ( in truth I sincerely hope not ! ), we are a bit struggling for a second singles player ( yes, much more than even GB have ! ). Watching Jonny O'Mara's progress with interest.
I'd say we are pretty well covered in the doubles department with Murray Bros and Colin.

Is it possible for Cameron Norrie to play for us should independence come to pass and secondly who would stay in the World Group surely it would have to be Scotland
Not really, common sense suggests that Tennis Scotland would be treated as a new member and they'd have to start from scratch. Murray and Flembo represent Great Britain/the LTA in the Davis Cup right now, and the LTA isn't dissolving.
I'm sure the answer lies somewhere in the drowned world of the effect of Balkanisation on 1990s Davis Cup tennis.
I can just imagine the outrage from the Scottish tennis fans, though. A storm is coming?
i can see why Scotland would have to start in the Euro/Africa i just feel that in fairness the current Gb team are effectively what would be team Scotland but I guess fairness doesn't always prevail
ps would Jamie Baker come out of retirement just for DC I'm sure he would still blitz his way through players from Moldova or any other pub level team

Gosh it must be such fun hanging out with, er, "Bomb", and "Burts", and "The Vicar". I'd like to know what they get up to every minute of every day; it would light up my dreary life no end.
