Week 43 - Great Britain F22 ($10,000) - Tipton (Hard)

Not as strong a field as normal, but main draw interest lies with:

Willis, Pauffley, Tom F, Marzi, Burton, Bloomers, Carter, Malik, Morgan, Orton, Hutt

main draw wildcards may have gone to Strachan, Meehan, Thornton Brown,

 

Qualifying draw can be found on LTA and ITF site, not yet on ATP site. (Link to LTA site normally does not work)

Rice is going to play Challenger qualies in the USA in the following weeks, so he had to take this week off. Hewitt and Gabb (both due to play in Seoul qualies) are not here for the same reason.

Pauffley and Farquharson are due to play in Eckental qualies, but I guess they'll withdraw if they make it to the semis/finals here. Germany isn't that far, so there's no need to skip this week.



Next week will be fun!!

Will Bloomfield show up? Perhaps it would be better to end the season and get over the injuries completely?


The field is fairly weak here, with no Rice, Hewitt or Goodall.

Certainly looks a chance for some of the higher ranked out of form Brits to pick up a few points, although them being out of form may mean some good pickings again for players ranked lower down.

 On paper it looks like a weak field  but there are a lot of Hungry young GB players that would love to have a GB no6  as a scalp so we wont be taking anything for granted where MW is concerned after the slip up in Loughborough !

So glad that they are having a go at Challengers. Does leave the field weak here though. Marcus should be favourite here if the real Marcus shows up. Howver I like the Malik guys I think they have making ogf good players

Ahh, Graeme Dyce. Seem to remember him being a pretty handy Junior. 24 now though and currently unranked.

Dyce was fairly good, but most of his Juniors fame came from a Doubles title, and Doubles at Juniors level is as pointless as it gets (and I have zero Junior doubles titles, before anyone asks ).

I remember that back in the day we used to have a laugh over the fact that whenever there was an article on the British juniors, Dyce would get far more coverage than Evans or Cox, who were clearly far more talented. Not blaming him, of course, because he is a great lad, but I guess the media loved to feed people with all the hype.
