RE: Week 41 - Great Britain F20 ($10,000) - Sunderland (Hard)

Thanks Phil

The live scores were very much appreciated as is the summary above. With all the Brits seeming to be in either Sunderland or Israel and no live scores from either site, it would have been a dull day without yours and Jonny's tweets.

And Tom did manage to turn it around and win the last set, which you probably already know by now.

Are you back there tomorrow ? Because if the PDAs don't turn up, we need you to be there smile

Sadly no, but should be there on Thursday. Can't be seen in Sunderland 3 days in a row ;)

Great job Phil. :)

Great shame for Jack P and David P but excellent result from Myles (Mick Lescure is no slouch).

Are you going tomorrow ?

Quick question:

How would you pronounce George Coupland's surname: Cupland or Coopland.

without ever hearing it said aloud i always thought it was: coopland
the one i always wonder about is: smet-hurst, or smeff-hurst?

yep, I'm a fan of Rob Carter. I expected him to be just a big serve but was nicely surprised - some great ground shots, and more consistent in the rallies too, not just going for a mega winner.
Interesting to hear his comments that fitness has been the big change this year - it's that that makes the hard-hitting rallies possible.
Certainly hope he does well in 2014; given his age he could be top 500 relatively soon (if he wants to, and carries on working hard).

NB doesn't George get called 'coopers' sometimes ? which would suggest it's Coooopland.

Correct about Coopland, clearly it was just me as in I thought it would be pronounced the same as in the word couple.

I hear a lot more about Southend FC then I'd ever wish to listen to due to Harman's numerous retweets...

On the 'names' thing, how should Pauffley be pronounced ?

P - oh (french au, like show) - ffleee

P - ow (german au, like cow) - flee

Puff - lee ?

Anything else ?

I've always assumed that one was P-ow - flee
