I hadn't realised he was a coach there. That all makes sense then

It's very strange - it's listed on ITF live scores but no matches are showing up. Perhaps a malfunction with the equipment?

Have they invented electricity up in the NE yet? no

Suprised it is not working, ever other UK tournament has been on live scores.

Maybe some of our NE correspondents are planning to attend and can provide updates?

Phil has gone there today. I have just tweeted him and asked for updates - all assuming he can get online while he is there of course.

Great ! Because I called them an hour ago and was told by the main desk to hold while they put me through to the tournament office - but then the poor girl came back on line to tell me that for some reason the tournament office doesn't have a phone line this time or, if they did, nobody at the main desk knew what it was !

She was very nice and asked for my message - so I said I now had two messages : 1. (the original) why wasn't livescores working ? and (2) new one - why didn;t the office have a phone line ???

Sounds like Phil is a better plan . . .

At least Nick's better at tennis than they are at spelling his name nowink

Yesterday: "Sunderland 10k: @hewitt_92 faces Nick Eeckelaeres"

Today: "No mercy today from @hewitt_92 who beats Nick Eeclkelaers 6-1 6-1 #sunderland"

So as predicted Bloomers turned over by Jathan - presumably still struggling with an injury that forced him to withdraw last week.

has changed into :
