QF: (3) Marcus Willis WR 415 beat (6) Tristan-Samuel Weissborn (AUT) WR 597 (CH 503 in July) by 1 & 3
SF: (3) Marcus Willis WR 415 v (Q) Sadio Doumbia (FRA) UNR (CH 1461 in 2007)
Doumbia is already sure to be ranked again (and at a career high) next Monday, having reached the SFs last week with (including the qualifying round) 4 bagels and 4 breadsticks! He lost to Mohammed Ghareeb in the SFs, taking only half as many games off him as Marcus had a round earlier.

Great news ! I'm still hopeful for my 20 points from this trip :) (Well, 18 mathematically would make more sense).
Doumbia is currently winning (took the first set 6-3) against the 8th seed. See posts for last week about Doumbia and his background and why he's not really an UNR player. Lewis played him so he'll be able to give Marcus some tips if Sadio goes on to win.
Doubia french qualifier beat no1 seed but has only play 5 matches this year & carreer win ratio of only 28% did no1 seed Myeni ( India ) get injured ? Alternative opponent in SF is C Wang 711 . So on paper Good chance of making the final ?
Good win for Marcus. Doumbia is 6-3, 5-2 up at the moment. It would be an interesting match. Ghareeb last week beat him in straights in the semis though.
Sadio defeated burts 6-1 6-1 last week so must be decent & on good form
Sadio's been at college in the US for the last 4 years so he hasn't been playing international tennis. He's been part of the French national training programme though since a kid - lots of intensive tennis. And obviosuly been playing a lot of college tennis. Just started out in futures, I think.
He's just won the French 2nd division championship (for players with pre-national rankings). Sadio is currently -15 (going up to -30 almost certainly). Marcus is -30 (which is also 2nd division), but maybe under-ranked, so he'll know all about the French ranking system.
Just spoke to Marcus going to be a tough match particularly with an injury but he's up for the challenge . It would be great to get to final . His morale is high and achieved 2013 goal ( 300s ) with 3 months to go !
