Hmm, Novak 6-3 6-0 6-0 vs Granollers in not very long.
I think he might benefit from Youzhny giving him some sort of match in the QF since there is such a thing as having it too easy.
By the way, I see Youzhny was 2 sets to 1 down to Hewitt and then 4-1 down in set 4 and 5-2 down in set 5 ( 1 break behind in each ) before winning the last 4 games in each set.
What a whitewash, it would have been so much better putting the Youzhny (RUS) v Hewitt (AUS) or Wawrinka (SWI) v Berdych (CZE) matches on Ashe instead.
Very considerate of Andy to give the Ashe patrons a competitive match.
So, it's Stan Wawrinka in the QFs. Head to head is 8-5 to Andy, generally pretty competitive although I did witness Andy marmalising Stan in the 2008 US Open.
L16: (3) Andy Murray WR 3 beat Denis Istomin (UZB) WR 65 (CH 33 in 2012) 6-7(5) 6-1 6-4 6-4
That takes Andy into his 17th slam QF (and 11th in a row in slams he has actually played) - he has won 13 of the previous 16.
QF: (3) Andy Murray WR 3 v (9) Stan Wawrinka (SUI) WR 10 (CH 9 in 2008)
H2H 8-5 as Indiana says, though Stan is the last player to beat Andy before the SFs at the US Open.
On hard, the H2H is 6-2, this year it is 0-1 (Monte Carlo on clay) and at the US Open, it is 1-1 - the 2008 thrashing that Indiana mentioned and the painful 2010 loss.

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
An interview with Dani Vallverdu about what could loosely be termed Andy's 'emotional journey' - it is in Spanish, but I know I'm not the only one here who can understand it and Google Translate will probably give anyone else who wants to readi it the gist:
At least should offer something different than Nadal just proving he can do whatever Ferrer does, just rather better.
The Les Petits As video of Gasquet and Nadal at 13 worth a look.......the current crop of kid players if anything look much more athletic at the same age, but the fight (Nadal) and groundstrokes (Gasquet) are very impressive.
Glad to see Gasquet not taking himself too seriously in the press conference - he mostly looks like he doesn't want to be there: how many times must he have been asked about whether he will ever fulfil his early promise!
I'll take a 4 set win over Stan, as Stan is playing well and Andy just Ok. That would at least give him a sporting chance physically of having enough petrol in the tank to take out both Nole and Rafa consecutively.
All the betting money is being placed on Stan and that does make sense, given Andy's average form. However Andy does have another gear to go to, so fingers crossed.

Stan is a good value bet even if you don't think he will win the match.
I agree, in some ways his is a similar position to Gasquets, who has also improved vastly this year. Last night he beat a guy who he hadn't even got close to beating recently.
