Hev now not ranked high enough, to get in by direct acceptance I assume.
yeah
tho genie got a dubs WC and I know hev & genie are good friends, but genie is playing with (the lovely) flipper whos dubs rank is 231 - mustve got in on singles rank
probly decided quite a while ago
also unranked kleybanova is in probably on PR and rightly so in her case
No I think, depending on her partner, she is still ranked high enough.......but I suspect she may not have found a partner for the event or was originally intending to play then dropped out after losing in the singles.
There has apparently been a change of OoP but still not sure if it will affect Laura's match?? (But this information is coming from a players tweet, who after looking at it may have just read the schedule wrongly )
No she read it right, but Laura's match remains at 6pm.

I had thought earlier to make the comment that just maybe Olga Savchuk was playing really well when she beat Hev................the Ukranian has now beat Lara Arruaberrena and qualified for the MD.
I don't see Savchuk beating Arruaberrena as any great surprise. Frankly I would expect a Hev anywhere near her best to beat both players.
Basically I agree with these who saw it as a good draw, just unfortunately one that Hev, partly for understandable reasons commented on earlier, was unable to take advantage of. I rather think Hev's loss was more down to her current level than Savchuk playing really well.
I do hope she can get some encouraging results before year end, much needed to stop her ranking dropping too much further. But I fear that it may be 2014 before we really see Hev back around her best competitive level again.
Azarenka's withdrawal has let to a fair bit of re-jigging of the draw, but Laura's section remains unchanged.
At least Vika withdrew before the tournament started - it always annoys me when a player with a first round bye withdraws after the start so a lucky loser goes straight into round 2.
Trying to be positive, it could be a really minor injury - she felt it in practice this morning but it wasn't a case of a doctor seeing the injury and telling her she couldn't play, more her own decision. Of course being a wrist injury could also be quite serious. We should know in a day or two.
Also, Wickmayer has improved to a level where Laura would struggle to beat her without a backhand

BT Sport commentator Guy McRea just said there are some doubts about Laura's fitness but she is planning on starting her match against Wickmayer. Sounds a bit worrying.
That's a shame, though sensible not to play when injured. It will be the last time I mention it but I bet the scheduling from last week had something to do with it
