Mel only lost 9 points in that set ... and 2 of them were dfs. She's giving the no. 2 seed a good kick up the Jaksic at the moment (sorry, couldn't resist!), I hope Jovana doesn't 'do a Jade' (see Granby thread) on her.
And so ...
Oh dear
Hard to imagine any result now except a Jaksic win but I would love to be wrong!
28-30 degrees. Third set. Comes down to fitness as much as anything...........oh oh!
Ms South wins 9 of the first 12 games, and loses 10 of the next 12. By the way, Jade Windley cites her fitness and endurance as one of her biggest weapons, so it doesn't surprise me that she can keep going in extreme heat (even hotter in Granby) when others start to wilt.

Well, I know that there's no prize for coming second (although in this case I guess there is 1 ranking point and a cheque for USD 228), but Anna and Lucy both seem to be playing well and making it competitive.
Very close stats in the first set and both a break up in the second (although breaks don't mean much . . .)
Jessica Simpson may be the other promising youngster in the field. High ranked junior and currently 3-2 up on Stanciute with break points.
As mentioned above, Stanciute is also the weakest foreign opponent by far, if looking at results for this year - she's barely strung two matches together these past months. It's a great chance for Jessica to try and make something happen.
