i think he is really good only seen him on tv but in a way I am pleased that he lost he doesnt need all the hype surrounding a junior grand slam champion. Can you imagine Barker Castle etc going into overdrive ==Kyle doesnt need that he has got Greg on his side and i think that is good.
Fred played one poor service game to get back on serve then Kyle dropped his at 4-4, so the French/Italian pair, who are combining better, take the first set 6-4
yes, I don;t know what Kyle has finally got planned for the next few weeks in terms of tournaments but he definitely looks as though he needs a rest and a break.

He was down to play a couple of futures in Italy but has now pulled out of them.

Indeed. I watched some of today, but didn't see his singles SF. He certainly looked jaded today, and comments from yesterday are somewhat similar. He played superbly against Gilles Simon a few weeks back, and again against de Schepper. His first 3 matches at Wimbledon looked to be a high standard: against Jonny O'Mara he was superb second set......sounds like he ran out of steam, perhaps physically, perhaps emotionally......
I agree with the consensus that these few weeks showed his potential, but no more than that....which is the way it should be
In the singles final Quinzi beat Chung 7-5 7-6(2) I saw most of the first set before play began on Centre, and Chung's defensive work was very impressive - it needs to be as he isn't one of the biggest., though he does have decent groundies from the back. The key difference was Quinzi being more prepared to go in to the net to finish points off when he had the opportunity.
In the doubles the Aussies won comfortably 6-2 6-3 - unsurprising given the lower than average quality, for a GS semi, on display in Kyle's match yesterday.
Noticed Kyle's qf opponent, young Kozlov, was given a WC into Newport ATP and took a set off former Davis Cup villain Przysiezny. Not bad for 15 years old!
Kozlov was good but it was the same story as Kyles match - lack of fitness and cramping at the end after being *4-3 up with a break. The fitness will come thoug!
