Their are only 2 players in the top 20 left in the bottom half of the draw - Muzza and Almagro.

And Almagro starts as a very strong 2nd favourite tomorrow (in my book anyway) against Janowicz

The bottom half guys made great effort to match the bottom half women's carnage.

Almagro ( 15 ) is the highest seed left in the "Roger / Rafa quarter" and is the next highest seed after Andy left in the bottom half.

And will all this carnage see David Ferrer move up to 3rd in the world after Wimbledon ?

"All power to Mr Stakhovsky, but I don't think that's going to be the most exciting of matches .... (Tsonga/Gulbis, on the other hand, one can understand putting on Centre."

Did I mention that I'm wretched on predictions?

The carnage will see :

David Ferrer rise to at least WR 3 ( he could even overtake Andy - he's 500 points behind "in running" )

Rafa rise to WR 4

Fed fall to WR 5 ( or even WR 6 if Berdych wins the title )

So without looking, I guess he will overtake Murray when his Olympic points come off - unless Muzza wins here of course ?

Classic Daily Fail
Mike Dickson @Mike_Dickson_DM
Remarkable: after 3 days the highest seed left in Andy Murray's half of the draw at Wimbledon is number 15 Nicolas Almagro.

Erm.. What about Andy himself Mike?

The Beeb on sport website says it's the 15th seed Raonic (who is 17th) and is in the middle of the other half!

I think the mention of Andy means he can just about get away with missing out "other" to save characters ...

Yes. Sure that there are various banana skins for Mr Murray, but still. And Del Potro beat Djokovic at Olympics, too.

YESSSS ! Bye bye Fed.

Though hail that now ended record - 36 QFs in a row !

... and he'll have been top 4 continuously for 10 years and 1 day when he drops to no. 5 (or lower) on 8 July.

The last time R3 of a slam had neither Fed nor Rafa in it was the last time Fed went out in R1 (he was 50-0 in slam R2s) at RG 2003 - the following slam saw Fed win his first Wimbledon title and Rafa play in a slam main draw for the first time.
