L128: Benjamin Becker (GER) WR 95 vs (2) Andy Murray WR 2
Head-to-head: they've met only once, at Queen's last week, when Andy triumphed by 6-4 7-6(3). I'm already assuming that Andy is on his way to a third encounter in the L64 with Yen-Hsun Lu (H2H 1-1...).

I was wondering why you had started a men's main draw thread when we already had one ... then I remembered about the "Andy Murray" section of the forum. I'll change the title of this thread to make it more obvious that it's only for Andy's matches.

And Mr Hewitt beat Mr Wawrinka. Not wholly unexpected ... but I'd take Mr Wawrinka rather than Mr Hewitt to beat Mr Federer. Really can't see anyone other than Mr Janowicz as a threat to his reaching the semis now. Indeed, from having the supposed worst draw of the group, he now has pretty well the best.
Hewitt was awesome today, rolled back the years and is still as passionate and in love with the game as when he was teenager. Brilliant to see.
As for Federer's draw opening up, I am not too fussed as I like Andy's chances against him. While it is true that you never write Federer off he is no where near the level this year that he was last year.
Glad for Mr Hewitt, though Mr Wawrinka is someone I'd like to have seen do well. On Federer, just aware that a few exhausting matches beforehand would increase Mr Murray's chances, should they both make the semis.
Steven: regarding your Fred Perry question elsewhere, might it have to do with which tournaments were considered majors/Grand Slams at different points in history during his career? Further compounded by the same question applying to his amateur and then professional careers separately.

Sad but true. I was really hopeful for Andy, and am less so after today. Shame really especially as I'm not a smugfed fan. I only hope that someone will upset Fed, and Andy gets to win wimby at last.

H2H 1-1 - that shock loss at the 2008 Olympics and a 3 & 2 win at Indian Wells this year.
Not sure it was that shocking as that was the year Andy didn't take the Olympics very seriously, and by his own admission didn't prep properly for them.
