Be interesting to see if he plays his doubles - I suspect he will - after all, he may not be injured at all, just tired or off form. Wish we knew . . .

To be honest at 2-6 1-3 0-40 down, clearly there was a gulf between the 2 players today, for whatever reason (and it could be because Zverev is a superstar, but I rather suspect an injury to Kyle). Given what we now know happened in set 3, how an earth Kyle managed to win the second set is a mystery!!!! One can't fault his fighting spirit.
Of some encouragement is Neil Harman's comment after watching part of Kyle and Borna Coric's matches that "this crop of 16/17 year old junior boys as good as any I've seen for a decade. If they press on we have got a real quality group forming"
I wonder what EVIDENCE Neil has for this assertion.
How on earth can he remember that the 16/17 year old boys he saw 2, 5, & 8 years ago were worse than today's; and even he does have some vague memories, how could he possibly measure their quality against one another?
Now if he had done a statistical analysis of the adult rankings of today's youngsters, compared with each year for the last 10 years, his statement might be worth making. Otherwise it is just meaningless puff.
It's impossible to say for certain without stats, but having followed juniors for the last few years this crop seem to be doing far (far) better than previous crops of juniors. Kyrgios has won a Challenger already and is on the brink of the top 200, and many of the others have won or made Futures finals. The competition seems so much stiffer than the last two generations. Kyle, Quinzi, Garin, Nishioka and a couple of others are already far ahead of the most of the top juniors from '92 (Berta, Mina) and '94 (Peliwo, Coppejans). The '93 generation are generally doing ok, with Vesely on the verge of the top 100 and the likes of Pavic, Thiem, Daniel, Kern, Kubler, Frantagelo, etc (and perhaps Golding if not for injury problems) in the top 400 - but the top players of the 95 and 96 generation are ahead of where they were at the time.
I was surprised to see Milojevic beat Quinzi, although given Quinzi just won a Futures title in Colombia the day before starting his Junior campaign it's probably just fatigue taking it's toll.
Garin is my prediction to win this one now.

Garin vs Zverev final. I'm still tipping Garin. Zverev is a HUGE talent though. Both have already made significant progress on the main tour despite their tender ages.
Kyle and Frederico starting their SF in a bit.

Very good work! Two GS doubles tournaments played, two GS finals achieved (and maybe even two championships ... though Garin and Jarry are looking fairly scary). Not a bad partnership!

Alexander Zverev just thrashed the #2 seed in straight sets (6-1 second set) to reach the final. Suddenly Kyle's performance doesn't look so surprisingly average yesterday. Hope this kid wins the final now.
