RE: Boys: French Open - Grade A (Week 23)

It's certainly possible that he's got a slight shoulder strain or something - 3 very tight, important 3-set matches plus the doubles matches must take some toll.
In fact, it's amazing how many really tight three set matches there's been in the juniors (well, maybe not amazing, but note-worthy, especially given the difference in rankings/expectations/supposed 'worth' of the players.

Bloody hell! Where did that come from?

Excluding DFs Kyle had managed to win 6 points off Zverev's 36 serves in play prior to that game.....where he broke the German to love!!

So 6 from 36, followed by 8 from 9!!!!

Set to Kyle 7-5!!!! smile Remember he was *1-3 0-40 down at one point in set 2, having been walloped 2-6 in set 1. Impressive

Kyle gets broken in the first game of the decider.

Why do memories of him playing Carballes Baena in Murcia keep coming back to me ?

Let's hope this one comes out differently.

*0-2. This service game is a must. Would be a shame to waste that back-to-the-wall set 2 performance now.

Toast. I'm convinced he must have a problem on serve....shoulder problem or similar.

Ouch - 0-5*

I've just seen the scores, I had to call in the District Nurse for my husband so I hadn't had time to check before.

0-5*

Break Points.

Kyle 3/3

Alex 5/20

In other words, the scoreline is actually deceptively in Kyle's favour. If it's simply a case of "Zverev played better on the day", I'd be amazed.....those stats (given Kyle's pedigree and the fact he's 2 years older) suggest a problem somewhere. Hope we find out.
