A very good win for Rhett over Gooch junior (assuming the ITF scores are correct this week), who defeated Jonny last week, whilst Tom comfortably negotiated his first test to have a go at one of the many Aussie juniors doing well at present.

Frustration for Alex in a final set tiebreak and disappointment for Luke - though his opponent is also ranked inside the ATP top 1000. Both remaining Brits face tough 3rd round matches, Evan against the top seed and Jonny against the player who beat Luke last week

R2

(13) Evan Hoyt (GBR) d. (WC) Thomas Weirather (LIE) 6-0 6-4
(8) Bradley Mousley (AUS) d. Thomas Colautti (GBR) 7-5 6-0
Wishaya Trongcharoenchaikul (THA) d. (3) Luke Bambridge (GBR) 4-6 6-3 6-2
(6) Young Seok Kim (KOR) d. (WC) Rhett Purcell (GBR) 6-3 6-4
(12) Jonny O'Mara (GBR) d. (Q) Ryotaro Matsumura (JPN) 6-3 4-6 6-2
(15) Maxime Janvier (FRA) d. Alexander Sendegeya (GBR) 3-6 6-0 7-6(4)

R3

(1) Borna Coric (CRO) v (13) Evan Hoyt (GBR)
(7) Harry Bourchier (AUS) v (12) Jonny O'Mara (GBR)

Both Evan and Jonny lost their L16 matches in straight sets. Expected results. Disappointing scorelines.

(1) Borna Coric (CRO) beat (13) Evan Hoyt (GBR) 6-2 6-0
(7) Harry Bourchier (AUS) beat (12) Jonny O'Mara (GBR) 6-4 6-1

It would be excellent for at least one of our more senior boys to have a good tournament during this Asian trip. With one tournament to go there is still hope, but they are not really shining this far. Luke seems to have hit the proverbial "wall" so far ths year.

Great to see Katie Boulter having some impressive wins on the girls side in early rounds which opens up the draw for her......if you can beat the #1 seed, why not go on and do serious damage, and embarass the boys

Yes, given the strength of boys sent over, I hoped for a bit more in the singles than a couple of quarter-finalists.

Doubles SF

(1) Bambridge/Coric (GBR/CRO) v Jancour/Muller (FRA)

Second time lucky for Luke smile  Let's hope that gives him a boost for a stronger singles showing next week.
