Of course if one sees the US Open as some sort of destiny fulfilment event, then failure to repeat it is indeed a disappointment. But let's get real - Djokovic is a significantly better player than Andy, and my guess is that he'll win 4 out of 5 of their matches (and in fact it's 8-2 head to head in their last 10 "big" matches). The US Open was just the 1 out of the 5.

Yes I do tend to agree with that. However I was, like a lot of people, hoping to see Andy kick on after his US Open triumph. His performances in big matches since then have largely been disappointing. I do tend to wonder what might have been had he not thrown away the Shanghai final. That would have made 3 wins in a row, all in big matches against Djokovic and might have established a mental edge in their rivalry.
