I think it was one of the best decisions Andy Murray made by not playing in the French Open and trying to regain full fitness for Wimbledon :) He played extremely well throughout the whol tournament right up to the last point, especially in his come back from 2 sets down in the semi final!

Er, no.  He came back from two sets down in his quarter-final against Verdasco, from only one in the semi against the charmless whingeing Pole, Janowicz.

Yes, I agree, abit like 2008 when he got knocked out of the Olympics early. I do still wonder if it was a tactical decision so he could concentrate on wimby. I guess we'll never know, or at least not until a long way into his retirement.

I don't think there is any doubt that he did have a genuine back problem but that he could have played the French Open had he really wanted to. Therefore it was obviously at least partly tactical.

In addition to the 2 sets down comeback being in the QF vs Verdasco, that match was an illustration that Andy certainly did not play extremely well throughout the tournament.

The first two sets were a throwback to the passive Andy of old against big shot makers, where he quite often risked exits by playing a waitimg for them to miss tactic when sometimes it's just their day of days.

Andy is good enough to impose a far more aggresive game against all players from the start, cettainly including suvh as Verdadco. It was grest that he turned that match round but it was far from his finest hour.

Something tells me it is getting late where you are wink

Sorry.  Bob - the phantom proof reader - strikes again.

And something tells me I am setting myself up for a big fall.

surely not, he's already won two 250's, that means he's playing for no points doesnt it?

Firstly I doubt he is really playing it for points and secondly no it doesn't. You can count scores from 250s ahead of scores from 500s so a win in Bangkok could for example replace the 90 points he is currently counting from Monte Carlo (which counts as a 500 for this purpose).

He does like that Far East swing! Does he have to take a zero pointer though for not playing enough 500s (I understand if he gets to final then he'll get more points than MC. Surely better to play Washington?

He will get a zero pointer after Washington but I don't think he really cares about it. If he did he would have played a 500 or two earlier in the year.
