Report in Daily Mail 1st December headed Verdasco drug ban stirs integrity fears in tennis. He has been banned from tennis for 2 months having found to have used a drug to treat ADHI. He was found with Methylphenidate in his system in February at a tournament in Rio. He did not have a TUE but he told investigators he had forgotten to renew it. His doctor had prescribed the drug for an ongoing condition and that it was a case of him being forgetful was accepted by ITIA who reduced the sanction from 2 years to 2 months. Verdasco is now 39 and will be eligible to play on January 8th 2023.
No great surprise but it is ridiculous how long it takes, and allegedly longer the further down the food chain you are.
Tara was suspended on 8th June i.e. 5 months ago. Will Simona Halep be suspended for 5 months without any news?
The answer is no. I read on another website that Halep wants an emergency hearing from the IATA as she may have figured out where the illegal substance in her system came from. Hoping for a decision that will enable her to play in the Australian Open.
Majchrzak does not have a biography in the 2022 ATP Tour Media Guide. His narrative on having tested positive for a banned substance is similar to that of Simona Halep.
People may remember Mick Lescure, in particular, as he played doubles with Marcus Willis several times, at one stage.
The fines are pretty big too - 40k for Mick and 15k for Jules..... doubt they made that much from the match-fixing.....
Really pleased to see them come down hard on it - some people saying they don't know why the investigation too so long.....no real comment about that, would depend on the details I'd have thought, but at least they got them
Not looking good for her. Once you can try and explain, a second offence becomes harder.
The fact they will go after someone like Halep is what makes me believe that accusations against others elsewhere on this board, have little merit. Youll get caught eventually

Yes point taken but much as we like Simona she is not a huge name to the non-Romanian public. Finding RN and ND guilty would be very different matter!
