I'm out on Monday evening too - so if Andy is playing, they had better announce in good time any change of channel. If I record BBC3 and they put it somewhere else, I shall be seriously annoyed.
I loved the aggressive start but Roger has raised his game. Unbelievable support for Roger. He is popular but cmon guys can you imagine the French crowd in Paris not supporting their own man. Or don't the crowd see Andy as one their own?

Are you actually surprised that the crowd are on Federer's side?
Poor performance from Andy to be honest. His good start was pretty much gifted to him and from the moment Federer broke back the result never looked in doubt.
I don't think that's accurate. It certainly wasn't the case at the US Open, where (at least from the video clips I've seen) people were manifestly willing him on at the end. Rather I think that the rest of the world to some degree has never fathomed the lack of UK support -- the European stories that I read are always musing about the English v. Scottish thing with a sense of bewilderment. I don't get it either. OK to support Federer -- he is a remarkable player and person -- but negativity is never called for, and it must have been a bit of a blow after all that Mr Murray has accomplished and his clear statements about being glad that he had been able to help tennis in this country.
Mr Murray does seem to feed off of positive energy and (despite his evident graciousness in the post-match interview) to be affected by the negativity often thrown in his direction. I hope that he has a good off-season and then enjoys a super swing in Australia.
Oops! Just realised that I'd misread (too hasty....) the quote on his lack of support, which indeed referred to the UK, not the rest of the world. Would, alas, have to agree that he does not have as much support as one would like here -- though saying he is "heavily disliked" by all but hard-core tennis fans seems a bit extreme. I'd say that Uk attitudes are a blend of some support, some passivity, and some dislike. But we have already discussed this one to death! .....

Saddened by the lack of support from the home crowd last night, probably contributed to his disappointing performance , we Brits can be a strange breed sometimes. I know alot of the general public don't warm to Andy because of his personality shown on the tennis court but come on he's probably our best ever tennis player and needs to have the full support of every tennis crowd in this country, he is after all representing this country. At Wimby the support was top notch so what happened ? He played Fed twice there this summer, and there's no doubt it rattled Roger a bit then.
The crowd support at Wimby was one of the reasons why he shook off that final defeat and went onto brilliance for the next couple of months, hope it now doesn't have a negative affect on him.
