RE: Week 44 - ITF ($75K) Barnstaple, UK Hard

But she breaks again 2-2, her opponent definitely likes a slice.

Breaks right back though, taking her 3rd BP, and advantage of at least one dubious line call in her favour. Despite the ranking gap, there seems little between them, and Tara is showing good form generally though.
*2-2

A hold for Tara, who is dictating play, just got to cut out the unforced and she could get the upset here 3-2*

Final game?

Excellent point constructed, FH in to the corner*15-0
Slice backhand cross court, Cepelova can't pick it up, *30-0
Tara moving forward plays a wild-ish volley, but deep on to the baseline, and Cepeloa can't handle it *40-0
and..

GSM Tara. Fantastic result

I only saw the first half of the match but I was impressed by Tara. Much better when she's dictating the play.

Excellent. I had to go out when she was down in the 2nd set. Great news.

Anne *3-2 (stream comes and goes)

AK 4-2* couple of aces from 15-30, also unreturned 2nd serves as she holds to 40

Super backhand winner from Anne to break after a series of ues from her opponent *5-2

Anne broken having saved 2 bps then a couple of wild forehands immediately after her serve 5-3*

Comfortable hold For DM *5-4

An ace to finish the set 6-4

Anne is playing aggressively, execution not always perfect but still a decent performance so far

AK breaks then holds for 2-0* (was busy so missed the action)

Anne had control of the point on bp but struck her forehand straight at her opponent. DM eventually holds *2-1

AK holds to love, impressive game 3-1*

AK breaks for *4-1. Her aggressive approach putting a lot of pressure on DM who seems to be taking on shots outside her comfort zone

Another love hold 5-1*

Super 2nd serve down the middle as DM holds *5-2

Anne in control of rally at 30-15 hits it straight back to her opponent, DM plays well to get to bp then Anne fires a forehand long after her serve 5-3*

DM dominant *5-4

A couple of dfs but gets there in the end on her 3rd mp 6-4

Anne's aggressive intent was impressive (aces, deep 2nd serves, going for big forehands after the serve, aggressive returning of 2nd), but her execution not quite what she'd hope for.

LW's game is impressive when it works. But so many horror shots in between. First set gone 4-6.

Loses 4 points in a row from 30-0 to get broken 0-1*

AB holds for *0-2

LW holds to love for 1-2* Inconsistent doesn't even go close to describing Lisa's forehand.

40-0 down LW fires two forehand returns of 2nd serves for clean winners. Eventually AB holds. *1-3

LW's errors are so wild, she rarely just misses. The bottom of the net, outside the tramlines.

Broken again 1-4* Movement was poor in that game.

Brilliant Lisa returns, some stunning play to break *2-4

Immediately goes 0-40 down including a horror forehand drop shot into the net, then recovers to 40-40, tame forehand into net. Rare AB error. Df. Unret. Not sure then another terrible forehand long from LW gifts AB another break 2-5*

AB saves a couple of bps before finally holding to win 6-4 6-2
