Well I thought Barbat won that game as well but then they seemed to change ends after Barbat won a point and continued the match.

Anyway, Jade lost 6-0 6-3 (and nearly got it back on serve).

Encouragingly Naomi already looks to be in much better fettle than when I last saw her, in Shrewsbury. She seems a bit more like her former self. Hope she plays like it too.

Patchy display from Naomi. Last 3 service games her first serve percentage was about 30%. Seems to retreat behind the baseline. I think she's got the potential to be a decent player but someone needs to get her to play to her strengths, play aggressive, go for more on 2nd serve. Had LS been a little less careless that could have been a very tight match.

Well done Naomi.
So much better than recently, and her attitude and demeanour were all positively transformed from just 5 weeks ago.
Probably Bratchikova next for her, which will be very tough, but hoping for more signs of recovery.

Good win for Naomi

- Stanciute isn't exactly an easy win for a player on an 8-match losing streak. It should stop her dropping out of the top 300 on Monday too.
