RE: Boys: US Open 2012 - Grade A (Week 36)

Two pretty good weeks for Liam and a real shame that he doesn't have anything to show for it. Hopefully he can take a lot from it and really start to push on with his senior career.

I wouldn't say he didn't have anything to show for it. Firstly, he's been in two more big finals and has beaten someone (in the first, if not the second) who looks as though he'll be pretty decent. Secondly, it's now quite possible he'll finish the year in the top 10, which would give him some benefits.

As with Mr Murray, I think we're getting spoiled. With Broady having Wimbledon, AO and Orange Bowl titles in doubles and Wimbledon/US Open finals in singles; Morgan the Orange Bowl in singles and Wimbledon (title and finalist) in doubles, Golding the Youth Olympics gold in doubles and the US Open in singles (and Wimbledon finalist in doubles), Ward-Hibbert the Orange Bowl and Australian Open in doubles, Edmund the US Open in doubles, Robson the Wimbledon singles and finalist in Australia (twice), and Watson the US Open singles, it's been a fairly decent five years.

Good points essentially. Liam has moved back into the top 10, but is unlikely to stay there until the end of the year, as the following articles with quotes from him confirm that this will be his last junior tournament

Thanks for the links! As others with knowledge of him keep saying on this board, he seems well-grounded. Hope he continues to do well at senior level.
