For those like mw who didn't see the match last night, Milos's presser on the USO site is quite enlightening as to quite how well Andy played
That makes two years in a row that Muzz has reached at least the QFs of all four slams, and counting from his first slam QF (Wimbledon 2008), he has made QFs or better at 14 of the last 18!

Not happy with Spanish TV. Overall, their coverage has been great (apart from their incredibly biased and partisan commentaries!!) with a choice of up to 6 simultaneous live matches on their subscription sports package. I have 5 of the 6 channels and the only rerun of the Murray match today is on the one channel I don't have. I am going to have to sit through endless reruns of Almagro and Berdych !!
Sounds like Murray was awesome last night. My only concern is that his good performances are coming in the evenings. I am still concerned with his ability to cope with the heat of the daytime matches. Let's hope that it is just me being overly pessimistic.
Raonic's press conference is a fine one generally. You can see why people think he has the temperament to do well: he is honest about how good Murray was, good humoured about and indeed appreciative of Murray's level of play, and yet you don't get the sense that he thinks he can't win generally against the top players. Hope he does indeed do well (but preferably not against Mr Murray).
I felt Andy was zoned in from the first point, trademark Petch overexcited reaction was evidence of this. Milos was impressive to start off with, looked very dangerous until that 4-4 game when he served a couple of doubles and Andy was able to break. Straightforward from then on. When Andy is focused like this, it really is a pleasure to watch him basically tear apart a world class opponent. The passes were sublime and his ability to get Milos's serve back into play at times was incredible, a 9/10 performance. Night sessions on Arthur Ashe are really a dream ticket for Andy, just about unbeatable.
The test now is to try and replicate that level during a day match when the temperatures are up a bit. The good news is that he won't have to play on Armstrong again, and if he can play his quarter on Wednesday he will avoid the heat of Thursday and Friday when temperatures are expected to soar again. Back down again for the weekend thankfully.
I get the feeling from listening to his press conference that he is still not 100% happy about his physical fitness, but happier than he was at the beginning of the tournament. Hopefully the wrist issue won't turn out to be anything problematical.
Andy third on Arhur Ashe after a couple of pieces of unfinished business.
Start due at 11 am ( 4 pm BST ) with Bartoli 4 - 0 up in the first set on Sharapova, to be followed at not before 12.30 pm ( 5.30 pm BST ) by Roddick and Del Potro who were one point into a first set tiebreak, and then Andy vs Cilic.

Alot of rain forecast for start of day, and as Andy is 3rd on and two days ahead of the bottom half of the draw, wouldn't be surprised to see his match cancelled. Not optimistic.
Oh please could someone send in a couple of coachloads of spectators this is woeful.
Absolutely pathetic ( the attendance I mean ! ).
Don't know what the weather forecast is for tomorrow, but if they can't produce any sort of crowd on Armstrong tonight, I might have been happier if this was posponed till tomorrow and play the remaining 3 matches on Ashe. There are no women's matches due tomorrow.
So much for the vibe of the US Open crowd Andy likes. I presume there was a decent crowd for Wawrinka vs Djokovic ?

Schedule Update: Play is currently suspended. The forecast calls for on and off showers into early afternoon, followed by clearing. Once the rain stops, we will dry the courts and play will begin.
