Well, with that serve % ( and it ended up 49% first serves in ), broken 4 times and apparently missing all these easy shots ( and he ended up with 31 UEs ) I'm guessing he was doing some things right, eg. clearly set up a lot of good positions. Or was Bogomolov really bad ?
Looked as if he got better, with the first serve % improving and winning 10 of the last 11 games.
The conditions were tough. Bogomolov is simply a limited player. He played some great points but can't sustain that level for any length of time. His 2nd serve was getting destroyed for much of the contest. The first set was packed full of Murray drop shots. As a strategy it worked but some of the points he didn't win were just ridiculous. After the first set he didn't use the drop shot that often.
A really strange match to watch - as Kundalini has already mentioned, some of the points Andy lost were just ridiculous. His serve was just unbelievably bad and he just seemed to be unable to finish points, leading to a bizarre situation where he'd hit some nice shots in the rally and end up losing the point with an ue. It almost looked like his body was playing on auto-pilot and whenever he started to think about it, it went wrong!!
Still, a win nonetheless and he did seem to cope relatively well in the swirling wind towards the end of the match so that bodes well. His game didn't fall apart completely like I've seen in the past in windy conditions.

Andy's match with Ivan Dodig is the second night match on Arthur Ashe tomorrow.
The session starts at 7pm ( midnight BST ) with Sharapova vs Dominguez Lino.
Laura's match with Kim Clijsters is on Arthur Ashe in the afternoon. Two Brits on the main court on one day - woo ! ( though the Belgians wins the day with three in the first session ! )

Oh heck. No point in me staying up for Andy, I'd only fall asleep anyway. I wonder if it will be on Eurosport player? Or do they only have the matches they can show live? (which doesn't seem to be any from Ashe)
Nice to wake up to - I couldn't wait until I got downstairs to the computer, I checked on teletext as soon as I got up! I'm glad he played better, Dodig is one of those players who can raise his game for big matches ( he has beaten (famously) Nadal, Soderling and Tsonga.
So, Andujar or Deliciano next. That match is first on Court 7 today.
The 4th round and QF seem very up for grabs (and not just because Cilic is battling!) Raonic, if he gets to the 3rd round, has to get past either Granollers or Blake (who may be more of a threat at the US Open than he would be elsewhere ... though how much of a threat is open to debate) ... and then both Nishikori and Chardy seem to have the potential to do well. But I must confess, I'm really glad to see Tsonga out of the draw, as Tsonga on a good day (or even an OK day) is one of the players with whom I don't ever believe it's over until the match is well done and dusted! I had a hard time listening to the Wimbledon semi ... so tense!
