An intriguing question for the Saturday schedulers. If it seems likely, based on prior form, that a particular match time would suit a particular contestant, what do they do? If Murray's semi were going to be Murray/Federer, it would be almost guaranteed to be the later match-up. But this way both sessions will feature one known quantity and one less-well-known quantity. Who knows what will happen?
One does have to feel for Berdych. He has beaten Federer twice in two years at the QFs of slams and has made a slam final. He's been top-10 for two years and within the top twenty for the better part of six. And then in his press conference a reporter links his victory over Federer with Rosol's over Nadal. Ummm.....
Traditionally the first semi is the top half of the draw, as there isn't a night session with both singles matches being played back to back.
Hmmm. Andy gets the first semi tomorrow - I thought he would - so I hope he is now more acclimatised to heat and humidity. He has struggled with the day matches so far. Never mind the ice baths - put him in a sauna! 11am local, 4pm here: and I will miss all but the very start, drat it. Might be better for my blood pressure, though. I hope I get in to good news!
Given the weather forecast for tomorrow I am glad that Andy is on first. If things get really bad the second SF could end up on Armstrong and given his two performances on that court so far that would have been very bad news for Andy.
Well that was rubbish. So many careless errors for someone playing astonishingly passive tennis. I hope there's a plan B because plan A looks unconvincing even if Andy could execute his shots.

74% 1st serves, in that wind. I find that very impressive.
Third set looks quite good, 100% first serves in ( 12 / 12 ) 100 % serves won ( 12 / 12 ). I did guess ( and I saw his fastest serve speed was down ) that he was emphasising more accuracy over speed, but still....

Play abandoned for the day. Don't know if they have had a storm warning on something.
This match to finish at 11.30am US time tomorrow with the womens final at 4.30pm
Mens final is now on Monday. At least Murray gets a rest day.
I know a Monday final is becoming a bit of a tradition, but with all the reports of the weather going to be bad ( even without possible tornados ) why wasn't the Ferrer vs Djokovic match put on Armstrong early on ( though one thing might be the possible non size of crowd, hmmm )
A bit like 2008 when they took an age ( too late ) to shift the Andy vs Rafa semi to Armstrong when everyone knew torrential rain was coming.
Shouldn't do Andy any harm though

Not so sure about cool... they seem to be forecasting mid 80s today according to the following radar it looks like play might start within the hour - but there would still be a risk of showers
You mean exactly as Andy was disadvantaged in 2008. It's the exact same scenario.
That's often said, and partly fair enough re the final. though they only played a final set and a half on the Sunday.
The only thing is that if the semi had continued on the Saturday ( a little bit hypothetical since it never was likely to finish and both players no doubt knew that ) I'm far from sure Andy would have won the semi, with the tide having turned a bit in the third set.
