A bit shocked at JWH getting bagelled ... but Neil Harman says Jonas Bjorkman asked him to keep an eye out for this guy because he (and his brother) are Sweden's top prospects at the moment.

Still shocked though!

Yes, Elias and Mikael Ymer have a big fan club already, and have received several mentions in our junior threads, so I expected a tough match for Josh but not a one-sided affair. Good effort from Tommy, but overall it is one of the worst Junior Wimbledons I can recall for total British first round victories.

Luke Saville was presumably better prepared for his rematch with Laurent Lokoli and won easily

Josh resumes his match on court 9 at 11am, with the winner due to play match 3 against an opponent to be determined

R2 (L32)

Luke Bambridge v Maximilian Marterer (GER) Ct 9 match 4
(5) Liam Broady v Stefan Kozlov (USA) Ct 19 match 2

Stefan Kozlov is a 14 year old prodigy who reached the Orange Bowl under 12 and under 14 finals a year early

Surely JWH is massively over-ranked due to his Grand Slam doubles success? From his previous singles results I can't believe he is amongst the top 16 juniors in the draw.

hmmm possibly, although i have heard from before that he's a pretty brutal striker of the ball, singles or doubles

He did pretty well at the Australian Open in singles, getting to the quarters. Tends to average quarters in most tournaments that aren't on clay.

Indeed he is. He would probably be somewhere between 30 and 40 in the world based solely on singles ranking points.

Josh went 2-0 down in the second set and then retired.

what a shame - but obviously something wrong. Hope it's not too serious.

Broady lost the first 7-6(3) at which point the rain arrived.

The question is will Josh be fit enough for his doubles with Liam? Perhaps it's a good thing they're delayed for another day.

Seems like the rain break helped Liam. He won the second set 6-0
