RE: Weeks 22 & 23: French Open (Roland-Garros) (red clay)

Err, I didn't comment on the match.  I commented on serving stats and the fact that would be a real future issue if his back didn't allow him to serve quicker  smile  Comments about today being much to do with Nieminen breaking down just tend to reaffirm my comments.

I think The Scotsman is getting a bit carried away today, devoting the whole of its main page 3 to Andy's current and historical injury issues. Apparently "The world number four's career has been dogged by injury, in particular back ptoblems.."  and there is a nice pic of Andy with pointers to various parts of his body regarding historical injuries ( of varying seriousness ). While the current situation is not good, this is exagerrated nonsense in my view. If Andy does make Wimbledon OK, I'm just waiting for yhe BBC's very own Alan Partridge ( sorry Garry Richardson ! ) to start quizing Andy on all such things wink  .   Although ( afterthought ) one thing the Scotsman didn't refer to at all ( and I was forgetting ) was his worst issues of all, which related back to his junior days and why he has for ever afterwards had braces on both ankles.

The 11.00 kick-off for Schiavone vs Lepchenko is local, so more likely to be 12.30-13.00 BST - & on ITV1.

For anyone in confused.com re Andy's likely start time, I think everyone is agreed that the Shiavone vs Lepchenko match is due off at 11 am local French time. That is 10 am BST Uk time. Madeline then estimates that the start time for Andy will be around 11.30 am to noon BST UK time and SC that it it will be around 12.30 pm to 1 pm BST UK time. I guess you pays your money and takes your choice, but I would have personally thopught that there must be a very good chance that Andy will be in action by noon, so I wouldn't want anyone to be cauight out  smile

12.54 BST & the girls are still out there knocking seven bells of hell out of each other.  I had a feeling it would be a long one, but not this long!  How I wish I were a betting woman... wink

Obviously!  Have you tried the ITV site?

First set in the bag for Andy by 6-3.  Looks reasonably comfortable so far today, thank God! smile
