4th Guinot-Mary Cohr Masters - Rueil-Malmaison, Paris (red clay) (exhibition event)

Andy's playing here, is effectively the top seed, as he's the highest ranked player in the event, & is struggling against Ernests Gulbis:  he lost the first set by 6-7(?) & has just been broken to love in the third game of the second:  *1-3. cry

Signs of life at last:  he breaks back to 30 to level the second set at *4-4.

GSM Gulbis by 7-6(?) 7-6(4). cry  Andy had several chances to break Gulbis again in the tenth game & take the set, but spurned them all... disbelief

Nobody really - though the little I saw of it, it was a bit concerning how the back problem still seems to be bothering him.

I'd kinda care if Andy had lost  6 - 1  6 - 1  and I do care if the back problem is still noticeably bothering him.

OEM's opinion in today's Times:

Andy Murray, the British No 1, played in an exhibition at Guinot-Mary Cohr and although he went down in two tie-breaks to Ernests Gulbis, of Latvia, there was no reaction to the back injury that had handicapped his recent progress.
