I noticed that a lot of seeds have gone out already. As far as I can see there isnt too many seeds playing seeds in the FQR. Should that mean Watson would be almost garunteed a LL spot if she loses tomorrow? Also If there are no seeds going out in FQR could Robson get a LL spot through a pot luck draw?

No-one is guaranteed an LL spot in slams, but Heather would definitely be in the draw for any if she loses. Laura needs 2 higher seeds to win (other than Pliskova) to make the draw, but hopefully she won't need to worry about that.

Now that's how to put one of the young ones in their place wink

In the FQR, Heather will play Anna Floris (ITA) WR 187. Floris, who hit a career high of 129 in 2010 and turned 30 last week, is in only her 2nd slam FQR, having lost at that stage at the 2010 AO, but she beat a seed (Nara) in QR1 and breezed through her QR2 match against Costas-Moreira for the loss of just 2 games today.

Dominant beginning, dominant end, not sure what happened in the middle, but got the win in the end !

Floris is your classic example of a journeywoman, but is clearly playing well, overall though a nice draw for a FQR.

Lisa Whybourn got the better of Floris a few years back in Wimbledon qualifying
