Good to see Evan continue winning.

Maybe his results meant he'd lost confidence (to be expected) and maybe now he can progress

The boys have really excelled so far. A win for Josh, who is good on clay, over a Kiwi with limited experience on the dirt was perhaps to be expected, but Peter's win over a top Argentinian is a big surprise given his previous results on the surface.

The two remaining top 4 seeds are the next opponents for Evan and Josh. Evan did manage to beat Napolitano on hard in the junior Davis Cup, though the Italian has subsequently won a Grade A on clay, and also won his last tournament.

R2

(14) Evan Hoyt (GBR) d. (Q) Nicolas Compagnucci (ITA) 6-2 6-2
Jonny O'Mara (GBR) d. (4) Franko Miocic (CRO) 6-1 7-6(2)
Joshua Sapwell (GBR) d. (13) Cameron Norrie (NZL) 6-3 6-4
Peter Ashley (GBR) d. (2/WC) Pedro Cachin (ARG) 1-6 7-5 7-6(3)

R3

(1) Stefano Napolitano (ITA) v (14) Evan Hoyt (GBR)
Jonny O'Mara (GBR) v (16) Cheng-Yu Yu (TPE)
Joshua Sapwell (GBR) v (3) Pietro Licciardi (ITA)
Botic Van de Zandschulp (NED) v Peter Ashley (GBR)

(16) Cheng-Yu Yu (TPE) d. Jonny O'Mara (GBR) 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4
(3) Pietro Licciardi (ITA) d. Joshua Sapwell (GBR) 6-4 6-2
Botic Van de Zandschulp (NED) v Peter Ashley (GBR)

Peter does progress, and has a chance of a second Grade 2 semi, where he would be up against a strong seed (Licciardi or Weidinger). Evan lost his doubles quarterfinal against the top seeds. I won't be in a position to give further updates before Monday so .......

R3

Peter Ashley (GBR) d. Botic Van de Zandschulp (NED) 6-2 7-5

QF

Blaz Bijzak (SLO) v Peter Ashley (GBR)
