He got injured after 3 games of his doubles and they retired.

Dammit. After not being able to watch his match on Friday, I was really looking forward to this - an interesting match-up. Nice that Andy is through to the next round, but he will be short of match practice.

And his opponent in the last 16 will be the Frog 13th seed, Gilles Simon.  Gilou has beaten Andy only once in nine encounters & that was the first, at the Rome Masters, so on clay, in 2007...

S*d the match practice, walkovers are every player's dream come true.

And Simon is just SOOOO Andy's b*tch. He plays the same kind of game, but Andy is better in every single aspect.

Now, what was I saying after the first round exit at Indian Wells, when it was the usual panic stations with everybody else?

I think Raonic could have been a sticky one for Andy, he's improved tremendously, so a bit of good fortune for our man.

Berdych knocked out by Dimitrov, so (not wishing to put the mockers on Andy getting past Simon!) Tipsy or Dimitrov.

Berdych, Tipsy, Dimitrov - just need Gulbis and a few GEMs and we'd have the complete cast of the Muppet Show! wink

Rather annoying of the match preceding Andy's to have gone 'three'.

yes, but I was out earlier and convinced I'd miss a big chunk of Andy's match, so I'm happy! (Only if he wins of course!!)

I was thinking she sounded like the one who was commentating on Bath the other day....

oh is that who it is, she isn't great is she - to be fair I think she'd be better if she had a co-commentator to get a conversation going rather than her on her own

Still, given this first game I've definitely learnt my lesson about counting chickens (well ranking points) before they're hatched where Murray is concerned, his first game should not be this difficult!
