Luke Bambridge has joined the final section of the COSAT circuit, having spent time training with Greg Rusedski, and should be a high seed. Peter Ashley, Jonny O'Mara and Tom Hill also made the cut, but Alex Sendegeya and Clay Crawford had to go into qualifying. Both played Brazilians, on what Luke describes as fast high-bouncing courts, but Clay was the only winner - in more senses than one
COSAT changed the winner of the other match in Clay's section, but that did not help him. In the main draw Jonny has to take on the Chile runner-up while Tom has top 20 opposition.

A predictable set of results meaning that the quartet just here for 3 grade 2s who leave after this week, have little to show for their efforts in singles. Luke will face the Chile winner in round 2.
