Horrible. I really was hoping he would give Fed a smugnessectomy. The commentator said at one point he couldn't imagine anyone actually not liking Roger Federer even if they didn't want him to win. Well he's certainly going to be even keener on himself after this

I find myself agreeing with that assessment, JC.  In fact, I'd go so far as to say that Rog is not quite the gentleman sportsman so many portray him as/would like him to be as a winner of so many grand slam titles! furious  He's a majestic player, sure, but a hard-to-like human being! evileye  Rafa's far more personable, IMHO.

Re Andy's second serve that Mad referred to, having not seen any of his matches this week I can't really give it any stick  wink  Did notice that he only won 4/16 on it against Djokovic, which looked rather concerning.  Today he wn 19/34 against Fed, though he's generally not such a good returner.

In the match against Djokovic his first serve was extremely good. As for second serve, both players really struggled but I think it was mostly down to them being the best two returners in the game.

What I meant was, watching the matches, that I used to cringe when Andy had to make a second serve, as more often than not it came back with interest for a winner. It may not be statistically right, but my impression definitely was that he had much more success with the second serve than he used to have - it only occasionally came straight for a winner, more often got into a rally. He might well have still lost the point, but at least I was not so worried if he muffed the first serve!
