Enjoyable Friday lunchtime viewing. Great serving for the most part, and a few more errors than usual from Nole was the difference for me between here and the Oz open.
The total H2H at 8-6 isn't too shabby, either. Admittedly it was better and Fed has whittled it down a bit: come on, Andy, get it moving in the right direction again
Meh. Andy loses 5-7 4-6. His serving just wasn't up to scratch today, and Fed was having a good day.
Still a darn sight better than the last two years, and I am cautiously optimistic about IW and Miami.
Edit: first serve % only 48. Fed's was only 50, but won more points on his second serve. Andy's second serve has improved out of sight, though, it doesn't get clobbered very much these days.

Yep without really wanting to get into some of the love / hate discussions you get on certain other forums, to me Fed has been far too much up his own arse for quite a number of years and does seem to choose who he is gracious to. I think many of the tennis watching public are a little at odds with most commentators re this. I have heard Jonathan Overend comment a bit about it on Radio 5 Live. although he seemed to think it rather amusing more than anything else.
At the WTF he met up with the Arsenal manger and players and said words to the effect that he thought it had been a wonderful experience for Arsene and the players to have met him
He at times does though seem to say these things without any self awareness of how it can come across. Quite strange really.
Re the match I'm not too bothered about Andy losing as long as his game is in decent groove.
Re Andy's second serve that Mad referred to, having not seen any of his matches this week I can't really give it any stick Did notice that he only won 4/16 on it against Djokovic, which looked rather concerning. Today he wn 19/34 against Fed, though he's generally not such a good returner.
