Girls: Nicholas Machiavello, Ecuador - Grade 2 (Week 4)

Georgina Sellyn is back on hard courts this week, but without Tom Hill. Justine De Sutter is in the opposite half of the draw, so any rematch this week will be welcome, given that it would be a final, and also entry into the top 100

R1 (L64)

(10) Georgina Sellyn (GBR) Bye

If ever there was a tournament just asking for the players to employ some cunning tactics, this must be it! wink

If you were to truly get into the spirit of the tournament, you would have arranged for no-one else to desire to enter in the first place.

Georgina shouldn't need any special cunning to deal with her opening opponent, who has a comparatively modest record

As expected an easy win. Her next opponent had a good tournament in the Junior Fed Cup finals, being undefeated - beating Pippa Horn amongst others - but hasn't been particularly impressive since.

Georgina plays her doubles partner in the final, who looks to be a bit stronger than her previous opponents. Unfortunately they couldn't take the doubles title

The COSAT drawsheet shows 4-6 7-6(5) 6-3 as the semi score

Doubles F

(1) De Sutter/Lemmens (BEL) d. Sellyn/Zacarias (MEX/GBR) 6-7(6) 7-6(7) [10-8]

Georgina's 'cunning plan' didn't quite come to fruition

"La mexicana @marcelazac campeona en el Grado 2 en Manta, ECU. 61 61 a Sellyn GBR." (from Juan Ceballos on Twitter)
