Broady crashes out 6-4, 6-1 (having led 3-0* in the first).

Given recent form not that surprising.

That takes Kyle's winning streak in junior 3rd sets to 11!

Only 2 out of 4 though (if you were referring to R2 of the singles) - Luke lost to the 4th seed.

Josh was quite strong as an under 14, but has really gone up a gear or two recently. Milojevic was the top 1995 by some margin at that level, especially on clay (Kyle got one game off him if I remember correctly in the European Championships) but hasn't been so dominant on hard courts.

Kyle has another rematch from last week (won 6-3 in the third), with the prospect of another in the quarter-finals (top seed Luke Saville).

There's an interview with Josh (and coach Dan Kiernan) on the LTA site: http://www.lta.org.uk/fans-major-events/Australian-Open/News/2012/Ward-Hibbert-and-Edmund-progress-at-Junior-Australian-Open/

R2

(7) Kyle Edmund (GBR) d. Pol Toledo Bague (ESP) 4-6 6-1 6-1
(4) Kaichi Uchida (JPN) d. Luke Bambridge (GBR) 6-4 7-6(8)
Robin Stanek (CZE) d. (3) Liam Broady (GBR) 6-4 6-1
Joshua Ward-Hibbert (GBR) d. (8) Stefano Napolitano (ITA) 6-3 6-4

R3

(11) Kimmer Coppejans (BEL) v (7) Kyle Edmund (GBR) Court 18 match 3
Joshua Ward-Hibbert (GBR) v (9) Nikola Milojevic (SRB) Court 18 match 1

Doubles R2

(6) Broady/Ward-Hibbert d. Ismailov/Kalovelonis (UZB/GRE) 6-2 6-2

QF

(6) Broady/Ward-Hibbert v (2) Cagnina/Monteiro (BEL/BRA)  Court 8 match 3

What is happening with Kyle at the start of each of his matches, other than that he looks to be reaching top form. Disappointing for Liam, I wonder whether he's just out of form or there is an explanation. Josh is really progressing from nowhere as he wasn't on my radar 12 months ago and a competitive effort from Luke.

Did someone say, this is the guy he beat in 3 recently somewhere else?

At this rate he'll be able to  cheer on Liam & Joshua's doubles which is under way and currently 3 - 3

Quite a way to celebrate his 18th birthday

Peliwo or Routa in the QFs - they have just split sets.
