Very pleased for Luke, who has had a tough time since the Davis Cup (just one win over a lower-ranked opponent) and was presented here with the toughest draw on paper. Josh now plays the winner of the first Grade A this year (Mexico). The boys have a day's rest before the second round, with just doubles tonight (plus the remaining first round matches).

I really love the junior events at the slams. It's an amazing opportunity for the players and a wonderful way for spectators to know who might be on the horizon in the next five years.
And the top guy enthusiastically (I think) tweeted a pic of his meal. It worries me what most of these players eat. It ain't athlete's food, it ain't nourishing and it ain't healthy.
But, having said that, I think the not totally convincing scorelines are more to do with nerves and not having quite settled in yet.

Not sure I agree with the players eating routine. They live off pasta mainly so a little chicken and chips surely can't be that bad. These are the best junior players in the world. Surely the score lines are expected to be close?
I don't think an occasional meal that doesn't quite conform to the healthy ideal is too bad a thing. Besides Liam looks like he is in pretty good shape and seems to take the fitness side of the game seriously enough.
He hasn't really hit the form that we would gave hoped since Wimbledon but pretty much every kid at that age has a bad run at some point. Watching him a few times last summer I got the impression that he was pushing himself a bit too hard.
