Georgina Sellyn will look to build on her excellent week in Costa Rica, and has a nice opener against a local wildcard, but Pippa Horn is a late withdrawal

Boys R1 (L64)

Tom Hill (GBR) d. (Q) Juan Sebastian Marino (COL) 6-4 6-2

R2

(10) Guillermo Nunez (CHI) v Tom Hill (GBR)

Not the worst seed Tom could draw, having lost 5 of his last 7 matches, but those losses have in general been to higher ranked players than Tom, so he is still second favourite

A tremendous demolition job by Georgina, backing up last week's win over a top 50 player, and defending points from last year.

Girls R2

Georgina Sellyn (GBR) d. (5) Justine De Sutter (BEL) 6-0 6-1

Very nice. Very nice indeed.

Georgina and partner lost in the Qfs of the doubles to the no1 seeds, one of whom is ranked c700 in doubles on the protour.

Quevedo is ranked 220 at the moment.

Didnt know they had any hard courts in South America. I assumed this was on clay

Very strong from Georgina, with her third emphatic win. Her next opponent took out the top seed, but hasn't been especially impressive otherwise, so hopefully Georgina can progress further.

Although there aren't many hard courts in South America as far as I am aware, I see that they have moved the tournament in Ecuador (2 weeks time) from clay to hard. Perhaps that is to compensate for changing the Mexico Grade A from hard to clay.

R3

Georgina Sellyn (GBR) d. Dhanielly Quevedo (VEN) 6-2 6-2

QF

(15) Kimberley Zimmermann (BEL) v Georgina Sellyn (GBR)

Not to be, but another leap up the rankings to top 150. On to Colombia and clay

QF

(15) Kimberley Zimmermann (BEL) d. Georgina Sellyn (GBR) 6-2 6-3
