Boys & Girls: Rankings at the start of 2012

Indiana remarked in another thread about the depth of talent on the boys' side amongst 94-96 born. Since the last event of 2011 has been added (the first of 2012, the Casablanca Grade A, starts on Boxing Day) it's possible to work out the rankings for the start of 2012 (give or take a position, for the odd minor event left to drop off from 2011). This is how it looks for those in the top 150, if I've calculated correctly:

Boys

Liam Broady 3

Kyle Edmund 9

Josh Ward-Hibbert 29

Luke Bambridge 51

Sam Hutt 71

Jordan Angus 74

Jonathan Cornish 76

Evan Hoyt 92

Peter Ashley 112

Scott Clayton 113

Joshua Page 125

Jonny O'Mara 127

Tom Colautti 129

Girls

Katy Dunne 99

Eleanor Dean 115

The boys do look a much stronger bunch at the moment, plus a few other 1996's on the way. With the girls i think we'll have to wait for the 97,98 and 99ers

It does look the complete opposite of a few years ago in terms of numbers. Mind you, this age range does also include Laura Robson.

They waited until the Mexican Grade A was over before starting 2012 rankings, altering some of the projected rankings, and allowing Myles Orton and Tom Hill to progress into the top 150 with results last week. 8 boys inside the top 100 is similar to 2008, though that was down entirely to those in their last year (1990s) whereas this time we have 3 with a couple of years left (Kyle, Luke and Evan)

Boys

Liam Broady 3
Kyle Edmund 9
Josh Ward-Hibbert 32
Luke Bambridge 51
Sam Hutt 68
Jordan Angus 74
Jonathan Cornish 80
Evan Hoyt 95
Peter Ashley 117
Scott Clayton 118
Joshua Page 123
Myles Orton 124
Jonny O'Mara 131
Tom Colautti 133
Tom Hill 144

Girls

Katy Dunne 93
Eleanor Dean 115

And with Peter Ashley just outside the Top 100 at 117, with 3 years left.

It looks very good.
