In a reversal of yesterday's trend both semis were won by the older player, so Jonny plays his first Grade 3 final against another 1995 boy, and completed a good day by cruising to the doubles title with Clay. Victory tomorrow would see Jonny on the cusp of the top 200

Jonny took the title today in 3 sets-very pleased with himself as it was a tough match. He said Hemery was on fire the first set, just having a go at everything and as sometimes happens everything was going in! but he felt the french boy couldnt keep playing like that so he tried to absorb everything and then managed to turn it around by thinking clearly and choosing the right shots-Hemery kept fighting even in the uneven third set but jonny was on his game then and never gave him the chance to get the momentum back. sounds like a mature performance and good week for him and many of the other brits too-on to Thailand!

A sign of maturity not panicking and working out how to turn things around - hopefully will stand him in good stead next week when his first opponent is likely to be.....Calvin Hemery
