Andy is seeded 1 here and will play Berrer or a qualifier in R2.

(5) Dodig, Dimi, Gulbis and another qualifier are the other players in his quarter.

(3) Simon & (6) Fognini are the other seeds in the top half and the no. 2 seed is Monfils.

Good chance to just put a little more space between himself and Federer for the battle to finish the year at number 3. Looking pretty good for Andy as Fed has also withdrawn from Shanghai

I just suddenly thought wasn't it about time Andy was in action.  And he is indeed currently in action.

Leads Berrer  * 4 - 3  with just the one break in the match so far.

I must leave him to it, but I should hope that I come back and see the W.
