In the QFs, Kyle will play Karim Hossam (EGY) JWR 42, who lost 1 & 1 to George Morgan at the Orange Bowl last year.

Very nice performances. Looked up Halebian: looks like he's a slightly intermittent player who likes big hard-court tournaments. He won the 16s Orange Bowl and was in the finals of the 16s Eddie Herr (both at 15), was a semifinalist at last year's Orange Bowl beating both Juan Sebastian Gomez and Dellien along the way (not bad at 16), and was a Quarterfinalist at the recent national hard-court championships, losing to Sock (who, incidentally, seems to have beaten most of his opponents at that point by somewhat lopsided scores).

Gutted for Liam, but very happy for the other 3.

One last QF opponent - George will play Adam Pavlásek CZE JWR 29, Petra Kvitova's boyfriend, whom Oli KOd 2&5 in the QFs in Canada last week.

I wouldn't be surprised if all three Brits are favourites to win their QFs, but 'big dog' (as they seem to call Vesely) is favourite to win the title.

Oli had a bit of bother last night though:

"Fought through very tough conditions to grind out 2 wins .. Especially the second ! Got back to the hotel at 11 pm only to find out that there is something wrong with the door of my room and I'm still locked out at 12.30 am after 7 key cards, 1 locksmith and 2 security guards"

So he may have spent the night sleeping in a corridor without access to his stuff. Hopefully not!

Isn't it nice that in the juniors these days, if one of them has a really bad day (e.g. Liam here), there are others who can come through to make up for it - from a GB fan's point of view even if not from the player's own point of view. This is what being a men's tennis fan in Spain must be like. wink

Last time we had 3 Brits in a junior slam QF musta been a while ago! Fantastic to have the non murray brits performing well in the second week. Hope Sky broadcast these matches after Murray and the mens dubs. Not interested in Nadal destroying Roddick enough to commit to the whole match if there are Brits playing!

Brilliant to get 3 through, and I cannot remember it happening in the last 15 years. No idea when it might have happened before that.

Would be great if they broadcast junior matches, but it's rare that the host broadcasters provide the feed, even on televised courts, at foreign grand slams.

Luke has actually made it into the doubles draw with Peliwo as alternates for Or-Harel and Napolitano

Oli 4th on 17

Kyle 3rd on 13

George 3rd on 8

Various doubles later, though if they try and complete the schedule they'll be there until midnight.
