That's quite a stat, Indiana, which I've tweeted (crediting you), so let's hope it's right (if it isn't, I'll take the blame for failing to spot a missing night match! ) - a brilliant serving performance from Muzz tonight - 76% 1st serves in, 76% of service points won!

Cheers, though would be my fault ( or yours for trusting me ). I'm pretty sure it's right, I couldn't think of any matches he'd lost in Ashe night sessions and all the info I read re where and when each match was played certainly confirmed this. Was well impressed when turned out he had never dropped a set. And interestingly, of course, these are the loudest most atmospheric sessions so does seem to agree with Andy.
As I said that Wawrinka match was certainly one of his finest and this latest one seems a pretty efficient job.
Re his serve stats, don't I keep saying it ( maybe a bit much but hey... ) serve is the most important factor in Andy's game ( it's up there and arguably ahead of his general tactical approach ). It's generally his biggest weakness in top class company ( and generally just has not improved as I feel it should have ) but when he does get it right, whatt a difference ! Now if he could serve at over 70% first serves in, while still serving boldly, for the rest of the tournament.......
Edit : looking at the serve stats this morning : 1st round ( highest 1st S speed 133 mph, average 1st 113, average 2nd 86, 8 aces, 3 DFs ), 2nd round : ( 134, 116, 83, 21, 8 ) and 3rd round ( 128, 107, 85, 3, 0 ) it is clear that he did take quite a bit off his 1st Serve last night. His first serves won were interesting at 100% ( 14 / 14 ) in the first set to 67% ( 28 / 42 ) over the course of sets 2 and 3 with an overall 75% success rate.

And mind you put right that negative H2H with Donald Young on Tuesday, please.
No way does Donald Young beat Andy....no way....
Funny....Johnny Mac was comentating on the match over here and he was giving his reasons for why he thinks Andy will win it all.....I was enjoying it until I recalled that he would say the same thing about Henman for about three Wimbledons in a row.....
Better match from Andy, but Lopez was abysmal beaten before he got on court. Should beat DY but 2011 AM is far more unpredictable so can't be 100% sure but still very very confident.
Young is an interesting "slow burner". He was the youngest ever year end junior no 1 in 2005, when he was only 16, but has since found it difficult to make an impact on the senior tour. He is quite small - I'd say 5'9" tops, as Wawrinka (no giant) towered over him when they shook hands the other day.
Hope here for our chaps grinding around the Futures and Challenger tours?

Very good performance but hard to read too much into it as he his game just matches up so well against Lopez. I think Murray knows that he can beat Lopez fairly easily and that Lopez knows it is as well. As for his serve, he said afterwards that he took some speed off because it was so windy that he didn't want to have to hit many second serves.
I can't really imagine that Djokovic is too bothered about who he plays, to be honest. It must be rather jolly to know that you are going to beat everybody unless you have a shocker.

I was on the point of going gluten-free when I came across an article in the Sunday Times that suggested another explanation for Djokovic's transformation from a wheezing invalid into a minor god.
"The company claims that spending up to 20 minutes in the pod three times a week can boost athletic performance by improving circulation, boosting oxygen-rich red-blood cells, removing lactic acid and possibly even stimulating mitochondrial biogenesis and stem-cell production."
Strewth, what utter crap! Remember that you heard it from Ratty first, people ...

Andy v Donald Young 1st on Arthur Ashe 4pm (I think)
Awaiting indiana telling us just how abysmal Andy's record is when he's started the day time session on Ashe. Or have the horror shows been on another court ?
