My livestream was going reasonably OK until Mad mentioned problems, almost at which time mine totally froze, then my comp was playing up.  So I restarted and then it took ages.....

Anyway after having watched the 3rd and half a 4th set of err not very good stuff by our man I finally got back at  2 - 1 up in the tiebreak and watched him see it out very well.  Hope the seond half of the fourth set was fun  smile

Well at least he's through which is the main thing, just a bit disppointing drop in standard and maybe focus after the first two sets.  Isner was certainly there to be taken in 3.

I heard a rather impressive stat at the beginning from American commentators that an Andy win today would make him just the 7th guy in the open era to reach at least the semis in all 4 slams in a calendar year  ( oh, beaten to that one  smile )

At 4-4 he dug himself into a hole at 15-40. Saved the first BP with an ace, the next point was a second serve on the line where he serve volleyed and hit an peach of a low volley.

4 wins tonight - and all into semi's. That has got to be the best evening's tennis I can remember.

Includes all of the current big four of course (you can read all kinds of things into that, e.g. best top 4 ever ... or 'no depth' ... or homogenisation of surfaces) and Tony Roche is the only one of the seven who failed to win a grand slam title in the year they made all 4 semis.

Muzz has also now made 8 semis in the last 13 slams, which is pretty spectacular in itself.

Nadal *4-1 up.

Come on A-Rod do something useful and at least push him to 4 sets.

This is nothing more than a gentle afternoon stroll for Nadal furious

6-2, *4-1 (just over an hour thus far)

Nadal super impressive, its going to take a super human performance from Andy to get the job done.

Nadal would not be looking this good against Murray, Roddick is just horribly limited in all departments except serve.

Nadal has been great tonight but Roddick has been dire. No way that Murray will play into Nadal's hands the way Roddick has.

I think the Roddick / Isner axis may have helped the poor old bottom half of the draw and that postponement of the final, but Mr Roddick you had further good work you could be doing and you're not doing it well enough.

Kerber v Stoser are playing their semi-final on Grandstand disbelief

Is Rozza the new Wozza? wink

Worrying that Rafa is going into killer mode just as Muzz appears over the horizon.

Rafa wins  6 - 2  6 - 1  6 - 3  and for the 3rd slam semi in a row ( would probably have been all 4 slam semis this year if Rafa hadn't got injured in Aus ) we have :

Andy vs Rafa

PS :  Don't know if it's just me, but my "preview" isn't working.
