RE: Weeks 35-36 - US Open main draw (men)

Notice that we now have all three of the boys quarterfinalists also playing. Which makes four Britons playing separate matches simultaneously on the final Friday of a Grand Slam. Not bad.

Very happy to see that 2nd set in the bag.  In control on his serve after that initial break, but without getting a second break you never know.

Doing a fairly efficient if unspectacular job on Isner so far.

Not really concerned about Andy dropping the third set. He was always likely to have a sloppy game and Isner tends to serve well when ahead in a set.

Pretty scrappy set that by Andy.  Had a couple of things niggle him and lost his rythym really.   At least off and running in the 4th.

More really than just a sloppy game, he lost more points on his own serve in that set than all the games in the first two sets when he was much more controlled.

I'm not too happy to see Andy chuntering at himself. Focus, Andy!

I can't post much because I'm spending most of my time swapping between livestreams to find one that is stable.

There was little doubt who had the better mental strength when it got tight there - great hold from Muzz.

Why was any one worried about having to play a tie break?

Phew!

I don't know how Andy feels but I'm wrecked! I need a comfort break, a coffee, and a lie down.
